Tema Sistemi SpA presents Cyclops, the automatic fire suppression system that revolutionizes safety in temporary environments

Autonomous, compact, and always ready to respond: Cyclops is the new water mist fire suppression system designed by Tema Sistemi SpA to deliver fast, targeted protection in temporary environments, mobile construction sites, and provisional installations.

A stand-alone solution that brings safety exactly where it is needed, when it is needed.

In temporary environments and mobile construction sites, a significant number of fires continue to occur, often with serious consequences. Combustible materials, temporary electrical systems, equipment, and a wide range of operational activities make these settings particularly vulnerable.

The situation is further exacerbated by the lack of adequate fire protection systems: in most cases, the available firefighting equipment requires direct human intervention. This means that a truly timely and effective emergency response depends on the constant presence of trained personnel with in-depth knowledge of the operational environment.

Under these conditions, implementing a dedicated fire protection system for temporary spaces is not merely a safety measure, but a strategic decision to ensure rapid recovery times and minimize operational impact, especially where temporariness itself already represents a critical factor.

To address these needs, Tema Sistemi SpA has developed Cyclops, the fully autonomous mobile fire suppression system            designed to provide immediate protection in complex and dynamic temporary environments. With Cyclops, safety becomes smart, fast, and mobile.

HOW IT WORKS

Cyclops is a stand-alone system that harnesses the power of Aquatech® high-pressure water mist technology to rapidly suppress fires.

What makes it particularly suitable for temporary environments and mobile construction sites is its ability to operate in complete autonomy: due to a 180° multi-sensor flame detector equipment, it immediately identifies flames, precisely directs the discharge system toward the source of the fire, and extinguishes it.

Cyclops can protect areas of up to 70 m², allowing large spaces to be secured with a single unit. In addition, it is modular and scalable: multiple units can be strategically positioned and coordinated to extend fire protection coverage, adapting flexibly to operational requirements and to the specific layout of the area to be protected.

OPERATING MODE:

1 CYCLIC SCANNING
The multisensor flame detector monitors the 180° area in front of the unit through cyclic scanning.

2 DETECTION, MOTORIZED ORIENTATION AND SUPPRESSION
Once flames are detected, the motorized nozzle mounted on a rotating band, automatically activates , precisely targeting the affected area.  The system discharges high-pressure water mist combined with Firefive®, the UL-certified additive designed to maximise the extinguishing water performance and ensure rapid fire suppression.

3 VOICE ALLERT
In the event of a fire, the system activates a voice alert providing on- site operators with clear instructions on the procedures to follow.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Cyclops operates on 220 volts and is equipped with an integrated emergency power supply system that ensures continued operation even in the event of a power outage for up to 200 hours.

SCHEME AND COMPONENTS

Cyclops is a certified system, entirely designed by Tema Sistemi SpA and manufactured in Italy at its facilities in Ravenna and Taranto, for both mechanical and electronic components.

Its self-supporting structure with locking wheels allows for easy handling and optimal positioning wherever protection is required. At the core of the system is a cabinet housing a cylinder and an electrically actuated activation  valve connected to an Aquatech® Water Mist nozzle. On top of the cabinet is the multi-sensor flame detector, while the front panel features a display that provides real-time system status updates, ensuring simple and intuitive application.

SUPPRESSION TECHNOLOGY
Cyclops fire suppression system employs Aquatech® Water Mist technology, enhanced using the FireFive® additive.

FireFive® drastically reduces the surface tension of water, enabling the fine water mist droplets to better inertize the combustion process, penetrate surfaces more effectively, and provide a greater heat exchange area. This accelerates cooling and flame suppression. The system is capable of extinguishing Class A, B, D, and F fires simultaneously, an essential feature in environments where different types of combustible materials are typically present. In addition, it effectively suppresses deep-seated fires, is also suitable for three-dimensional fires, withstands extremely low temperatures (it does not freeze down to -28°C), and is biodegradable and non-toxic (free from PFOS and PFAS).

APPLICATIONS

Compact, mobile, and fully autonomous, Cyclops represents an innovative solution for those requiring immediate protection in temporary, mobile, or dynamic environments combining rapid response, precision, and flexibility.

It is ideally suited for protecting construction sites, industrial, and naval, as well as temporary civil structures such as film sets, provisional installations (e.g., exhibition stands), and any other environment intended for limited-duration use.
