Foam systems

Twin Agent fire suppression systems

Powder-foam solutions designed for use in high-risk areas, where time is of the essence and where there is no energy and/or external power supply.

Twin agent for the most extreme fires
The powder-foam solution that needs no energy

Twin agent systems are an ideal answer in cases of fires with extreme characteristics. Indeed, these fire-fighting solutions are effective in the presence of three-dimensional fires of considerable severity, in areas of particularly high and extensive risk, in cases where time is of the essence and in the absence of any form of energy, external power or water supply.

Twin agents combine the benefits of dust with those of a foamer, providing excellent protection from Class A, B and C fires.

All versions of Twin Agent systems we produce are also approved by military certification bodies. In particular, in the Naval Military sector, we have obtained certification according to RINA regulations (‘FREMM Frigates Consolidated Edition 2006’), also successfully passing the stringent shock tests according to NAV-30-A001. These systems ensure the protection of the flight decks of the Italian Navy's futuristic new naval units.

How it works

The combined use of powder and foam is a particularly effective mix as it combines the speed of the powder's flame suppression with the extinguishing and re-ignition control capability of the foam.

We produce systems in different mobile or fixed versions: from the classic mobile units, transportable and usable by a single operator; to the fixed units, sized according to the areas to be protected and usable with at least two operators.

FAQ

What are Twin Agent systems and in which extreme scenarios are they used?

+

Twin Agent systems are powder-foam fire suppression solutions designed to tackle fires with extreme characteristics.
They are particularly effective in the presence of severe three-dimensional fires and in very high-risk, extensive areas
where time is a decisive factor for human safety and where external power, electrical supplies, or water supplies may be
unavailable.

How does the combined action of powder and foam work in these systems?

+

Twin Agent systems combine the benefits of two extinguishing agents, providing excellent protection for Class A, B, and
C fires. The system combines the speed of powder in knocking down flames with the foam’s ability to extinguish the
source of the fire and control reignition.

What certifications do Tema Sistemi’s Twin Agent systems have?

+

All versions of Tema Sistemi’s Twin Agent systems are also approved by naval certification bodies. In the military naval
sector, in particular, the company has obtained certification according to RINA regulations (“FREMM Frigates
Consolidated Edition 2006”) and has passed the extremely strict shock-resistance tests required by NAV-30-A001
standards. These systems are used to protect flight decks on Italian Navy naval units.

What configurations are available and what are the main components of the system?

+

Tema Sistemi produces Twin Agent systems in both mobile and fixed versions. Mobile versions include classic wheeled
units that can be transported and operated by a single operator. Fixed versions are sized according to the areas to be
protected and are designed for use by at least two operators. The main components include a powder tank and foam
concentrate tank, air or nitrogen cylinders for pressurisation, a pneumatic air dehumidification box, pneumatic control
stations, a hydraulic slewing system, twin monitors, and twin hose reels with dual-agent nozzles.
