Tema Sistemi expands abroad and obtains FM certification

A new milestone for global growth

Tema Sistemi, already a leader in European industrial fire protection, takes another important step in its evolution: it obtains FM certification for its Aquatech® water mist system for the protection of turbines and machinery spaces of 130m3 up to 260m3. This achievement comes at a crucial time when the company is responding to growing demand from international markets, particularly from customers in the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
Aquatech® was already certified according to UNI EN 14972, and to meet the challenges posed by these markets, Tema Sistemi SpA re-certified its system this time under the supervision of FM Approvals.
Using the certified laboratory Brand Technology conducted the performance and fire tests at the Taranto premises according to FM5560.
Not only a significant step into the future, but also a clear confirmation that the methods and processes adopted so far meet and exceed the highest international standards.

Certification

Aquatech®, designed for the protection of gas turbines and machinery space up to 260 m³, has passed rigorous quality and effectiveness tests, thus obtaining the necessary recognition to meet the demands of new customers oriented to American standards.

This achievement is not only a confirmation of the system's technical excellence, but also a calling card for Tema Sistemi's expansion into new geographical areas.

Failure to adequately intervene in these environments in the event of a fire could lead to serious economic losses, disruption of production and, in some cases, serious risks to the environment and the safety of people. The presence of flammable substances in confined spaces makes the adoption of effective and reliable fire-fighting systems essential.

Aquatech® water mist technology

Aquatech® is the flagship of water mist technology, an innovative fire-fighting solution that makes the most of the extinguishing power of water.
Thanks to an advanced nebulisation process, the system is able to generate a mist composed of micro-droplets smaller than 50 microns, which act simultaneously by cooling the affected areas, extinguishing them immediately and attenuating radiant heat.

This result is made possible by the constant commitment of Tema Sistemi's research and development department, which uses state-of-the-art instruments, such as the PDPA laser, to optimise the size of the droplets dispensed. The result is a solution perfectly balanced between efficiency and sustainability, ensuring maximum extinguishing power with minimum use of water, avoiding thermal shock and collateral damage.
This machine was also indispensable in achieving the excellent performance recorded during the cooling tests.
