Firefive® micelle encapsulator is a technologically advanced product, incorporating a revolutionary wetting agent, designed to extinguish fires, tailored to perform in the most extreme environments.
Mixed with water in a very low percentage, it quickly extinguishes class A, B, D and F fires and is able to extinguish even three-dimensional fires.
The product contains several properties that make it able to combine the advantages of wetting agents (as defined by NFPA18 standard) with the advantages of a fine chemical interaction on the dynamics of combustion and fire propagation.

Firefive® is an hi-tech solution with 5 properties:

  • Extinguishing power for class A, B, D and F fires;
  • Capability to reduce gases and smoke;
  • Efficiency in the most extreme atmospheric conditions, up to -28°C (-18°F);
  • Integrated ability to encapsulate liquid and gaseous fuels;

The product is characterized by an high versatility of use in the field of fire safety, applicable in the petrochemical, oil&gas, chemical, metallurgical, marine, manufacturing and forestry sectors.
Its efficiency is tested and certified by UL according to NFPA 18 Standard, and by RINA according to Res.265 (84) e MSC.1/Circ.1272 Standards.
In compliance with European REACH Regulation for chemical agent classification, Firefive® requires no special equipment and can be used both with fire mixer and in a premixed solution.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. MAXIMIZES WATER POWER

The surface tension of the water is reduced by approximately 3 times when mixed with Firefive® encapsulator.
Single water drops separate and reform as droplets, with consequent increase in wettability, penetrating quickly deep down into the heart of the fire.
Thanks to this unique property, it removes heat from the fire, drastically lowering both the temperature of the application zone and the surrounding areas, consequently inhibiting re-ignition, backfires and radiation.

  1. ENCAPSULATES AND NEUTRALIZES HYDROCARBON MOLECULES
    One of the most ashtoning Firefive® features is to encapsulate both liquid and gaseous hydrocarbon molecules even in three-dimensional fire cases.
    It encloses fuel molecules with a chemical covering named micelle, isolating and neutralizing them, making them non-flammable.
  2. INTERRUPTS THE FREE RADICAL CHAIN REACTION
    Firefive® restricts chain reaction of the free radical, high reactivity particles which stoke combustion propagation and smoke production.
    Encapsulating toxic smoke and vapours, Firefive® increases visibility, rendering the environments more safe for rescue operators.

Firefive® is a non-toxic, non-corrosive and biodegradable product that consumes up to 50% less water than other wetting agents on the market.

FIREFIVE® AND FOAM: Better together!

The effectiveness of the Firefive® has also been demonstrated with AFFF filming foaming agent. The cooling and extinguishing effect of the wetting agent, combined with the ability to suppress the fire of the foam, are the perfect combination for a rapid and definitive action against three-dimensional fires.
The emission of water mixed with a very low percentage of Firefive® allows the immediate suppression of the fire by heat dissipation.
At the same time, the action of the foam guarantees the complete extinction and non-reignition of the fire.
